All the Things We Think Of
Dear Wee Baby Bunting,
Don't know what the "bunting" part is about but it's cute, yeah? So as we get past the half-way mark, it's time to start thinking about the broader decisions we made when we first heard you were coming to town. Things like how you will eat, where you will sleep, what you will pee and poop in, etc.
Started writing this blog because while looking for diaper service recommendations and how to's, I came across a proponent of "Elimination Communication." This is toilet training from birth. This is developing a really close, intuitive and attentive/aware relationship with you. Recognizing when you will need to do your pee and poop (and I will add, not getting angry, frustrated or judgemental with myself or you when the lines of communication are blurred, missed, or misread).
Which leads me to the greater fear, which is very self-involved, about whether we'll get along... well. There is no "I" in "You" huh? Nor in "Us" may I add, which is what we're going to be (and which we actually are right now - an us).
So how do you feel about this EC thing? Sounds way better than having a wet diaper wrapped around your bum, that's for sure. Will ask your popsie about your poopsies and see what he thinks. We'll do both - a little of the diapering and a lot of the EC if he's down with it. And if you hate it, we'll stop.
Love you bundle of joy!
